Contract Announcement
VACUUM COATING Technologies, Inc. (VACT)
VACUUM COATING Technologies, Inc. (VACT), just celebrated its one-year anniversary as an independent company. This brought to a close a very successful first year in which the company won a number of new system orders/contracts as well as significant system upgrades for existing systems. The year was topped off with the signing of a new coating system contract with Saint-Gobain India for their operation in India. According to Dr. Robert Elschner, CEO of VACT “this will be the first glass coating system to be installed in India. The Indian market is very important for VACT because we believe it will be the next major market to experience strong growth in the field of large area glass sputter coating systems. With this in mind, we are confident that this will be the first of many sputter coating systems supplied by VACT to the Indian market”.
“We are pleased to be chosen first to participate in the expansion into the Indian market with our latest compartment coater platform. This new platform design is the most advanced system available in the industry today. Incorporating our patented components such as the C-MAG® cylindrical magnetron with its highly reliable VAC-MAG® endblocks together with the many advanced features of the VAC 870 compartment coater will make this an efficient and productive system for St. Gobain,” added Dr. Philip Johnson, President and COO.
The new St. Gobain India coater is scheduled to start production first quarter of 2007 in the Chennai (previously known as Madras) area of Tamil Nadu.
